The unimaginable distances of space and the limits of the human life span has always been a major barrier to the exploration of the Solar system and to the wider Universe. Humans have entered into a period where they can see but they have little hope in ever touching. We continue to probe, to learn to develop understanding. Finally in much the same way rubber was discovered by accident when a failed experiment was thrown out into the snow or Ivory Soap became the soap that floated by an accident of over stirring, the whim of a brilliant scientist provides the breakthrough in the ability to transport living matter from one location to another. However the receiver must be at the desired location. Those desired locations are millions and billions of light years apart. The solar system will be conquered by the DOR. The universe beyond will still be well beyond the reaches of the human race for eons or until the next experiment of learning to fold time and space can be achieved.The Doors to space need to be put into position. This is the story of how it all got started.
